...and a happy up and coming new year! christmas time is great isn't it? so much wonderful memories being made with family and friends. unfortunaltly all of our extended family is out of state so my family has spent christmas at home for about twenty years with out fail! we would love to be with grandparents and aunts, uncles, cousins but since we can't we always call them and take turns talking to them and sharing our different versions of storys about the day. in fact i just got off the phone with our grandparents in Divide,Colorado. i was the last, and 9 others had already talked to them before i even got the phone!sheesh,i think they were about talked out when my turn came. (lol i'm just kidding!) well i guess i'll tell about my christmas day now. christmas eve we always watch the movie 'its a wonderful life'. its a tradition here we have had since,well...way before i was even born!
With our family of 10,christams day starts at about 4:oo a.m. when the younger kids get up and wake up every one with their "shushing" and "be quiet!" to eachother and so called 'tiptoeing' down the stairs to look at the stockings and gifts! This morning was a little different tho. My wonderful brother woke up at about quarter after 4 and thought it best if he woke me up too....bad idea. i told him to go back to bed and stay there. (he called me a crank and spoiled sport...oh brother.) well he listened for once and went back to his own bed amazingly, i wasn't shaken again until about 7. that was surprizing! so up and at 'em at 7:00 a.m! we opened up stockings and ate breakfast of pumpkin muffins and eggs and venison sausage caserole. then my dad read Luke 2 in the Bible while while we were all together at the breakfast table. I seem to get more and more out of the christmas story every year i hear it read. and find it more interesting every time too. For example, you hear so much in story books and retellings of the nativity about the"three wise men that brought gifts". Well, there is NOTHING in the bible that states the number of wise men (or kings) that came to worship Jesus as a child. It says that 3 gifts were brought to Him. Gold, Frankinsince and Myre. Read the account in Luke and Matthew sometime when you have some time and you'll be surprized in how many new things you will read about and think to yourself "hmm, i never knew that before...
Well all in all we just had a nice day together home as a family. I got some nice gifts, made some great family memories, and ate plenty of ham, cheesecake and chocolates! well there you have it, thats about what happened here today. i have to go wash up dishes now so i have to wrap this up...Merry Christmas!!!!!
Peace to you all!

chocolate chip cookies,and old men
i slept in a little this morning, i was up late last night doing absoloutly nothing and well, that wore me out *lol* so i slept in this morning to make up for that. i got up at 7:45, did usual chores and fed the horses. boring stuff like that. then i did a little school work, history and geology. we are actually on christmas break right now but i really needed to catch up on my geology. and i did history because, well, i just did to try and get it done. and i am WAY behind on geology. i'm working really hard to graduate '09. i can't wait! *laughs* who can't?? sooo...i did that then i baked some chocolate chip cookies for the guy i work for...theres a story behind all that but i aint up to going into all that now. so i wrapped those up in a tin. one for him and one for his neighbor whos a bachlor. they are older guys (just so long as you don't tell them that...) and they both live alone and i guess they get lonely sometimes. so every once in a while my sister and me take them a little something. well after we were done working, Bob, the guy we work for, asked us to go drive up to the cemetery with him to visit the grave were his wife of 54 yrs was buried. He is such a neat guy, he's one in a million and such a sweet old man. Emilee and me have known both of them for a few years and his wife passed away about 4 months ago. so anyways we drove up there with him in his huge awsome diesel truck :) we drove around a bit then went back to his place. next me and Emilee walked over to his neighbors house to take him his christmas cookies. well he was just thrilled to pieces that we came to visit with him. he said "we make him real happy when we come today". he gets lonly because the only person who ever visits with him is Bob and us. so we had a real nice visit with him today and i was just really glad we went over there. you never know how really amazing some old folks are unless you take time to spend with them. i dont know why but i just like talking to old folks and listing to some of the things they have to say. i don't know what i would do with out some of these 'old folks' that are in my life. they really just have so much to say and so much you learn from them if you only take some time to jsut sit down and listen and talk with them. Take Bob for example, he trains cart horses and he is in his 70's and still going strong. i have learned so much from him! and he just loves to talk about his horses with me, we could talk for hours which is more than i could do with most of my friends my age. well here i go on and on rambling about stuff that is probably making you bored to death so i will quit now. but i'll be back tomorrow...*hehehe*
